Availability of Herbs

Attention of medical world turned away from herbs due to vast research on Allopathic medicines which have still no equal. There was no research for new Homeopathic herbal medicines. Same was the case in Ayurveda. Necessity is the mother of invention. If there is no demand, there won't be any production which is boosted by demand factor. Due to deforestation in cities, villages, plains and hills and jungles, trees and plants are still being mercilessly felled, despite legal ban in certain specified regions. It has disturbed ecological balance. The smokes emitted by thermal power houses, factories, quarries, and toxic chemicals released into air and already depleting water resources have vitiated and contaminated environment. We neither get pure water nor fresh and pure air. Earth has been soiled by imprudent and excessive uses of pesticides and chemical manures.

Plants require a fertile soil, seeds, air and water to grow but when these plant nutrients are vitiated and contaminated, either the plants won't grow to full bloom and if at all they grow, their growth will be much below expectations and, their yield will also be fare less. Over and above that, whatever booty we get is neither pure nor toxin-free. Hence, the plants and herbs we get had already lost their medicinal efficiency at the growth stage itself. So, the much sought after medicinal value seems to be ebbing out of herbs and what we get in return, after hefty expense, is nothing but simply a residual semblance of herbs. In short, herbs mostly, and used that too in good condition and quality, are not easy to get.
