Symptoms of Anaemia

Anaemia Menu

Some of the Common Symptoms of Anaemia are:

  • Breathlessness.
  • Tiredness.
  • Dizziness.
  • Rapid or Weak Pulse.
  • Various other symptoms may develop, depending on the underlying cause of the anaemia.

Less Common Symptoms include:

  • Headaches.
  • Palpitations, altered taste.
  • People with anaemia may also look pale.
  • Heart disease: which means your heart has to work harder to get enough oxygen around your body.
  • Diabetes: Anaemia may also lead to diabetes. These are related with the kidney failure and results in a situation where the levels of sugar in your blood are not properly controlled.
  • Swollen ankles and feet : Anaemia can also lead to swelling around the feet and ankles, which occurs due to the water imbalance in the body. When this happens the excess water is forced out of the blood and into the spaces between the cells, causing the body tissues to swell.
