Causes for Arthritis
The exact cause of arthritis is not known to anyone, and scientists are still working on it. Scientists do not yet fully understand what causes the various forms of arthritis. They are studying risk factors to determine why some people develop the disease and others do not. Some scientists even say, that there is no cause for Rheumatoid Arthritis. They say, that rheumatoid arthritis is not one disease, but it is several different diseases with common features.
Some Causes for Arthritis are:
- Stress - Person under great stress may easily develop arthritis. When stress occurs, body systems release adrenalin and cortisone, a process that weakens the immune system, and ultimately leading to arthritis.
- Genetics - There are likely genetic variations that can contribute to the cause of arthritis.
- Occupational Hazards - Workers in some specific occupations seem to have a higher risk of developing arthritis than other jobs.
- Past Injuries: If there had been an injury in the joint in past, such as a knee injury that damages cartilage, can add to the overall risk of arthritis.
- Infection - Some physicians and scientists believe that arthritis is caused by a kind of infection. Though, there is currently no proof of this.
- Ethnicity: Ethnic background affects the risk of arthritis.
- Certain types of bacteria cause reactive arthritis. If you have reactive arthritis one of these types of bacteria may have already made you sick.
