Epilepsy is a neurological problem. It means that brain is affected very badly in this disorder. In this disorder all or some parts of the brain can get affected. Generally, temporal, frontal lobe or occipital areas of the brain are affected in this disorder.

Approximately 40 types of seizures can occur in a patient. The symptoms associated with these seizures are different. Some of these seizures with their symptoms are:

Simple partial seizures

In this a very small portion of the brain is affected. The symptoms associated with this type of seizure are flashback, strange movements, feeling of fear and joy simultaneously, a funny taste's feeling, tingling or numbness, watching flashy lights and colored shape objects.

Complex partial seizures

In this seizure a larger portion of the brain is affected and the impact of this seizure on the brain lasts for a long time. If you experienced this type of seizures then you can suffer from unconsciousness, or even temporary memory loss. The other symptoms of this disorder are juddering movements, stroking, rubbing, or fiddling with your hands, looking here and there in a confused manner, chewing and lips smacking movements, etc.

Generalized seizures

In this seizure type most of the parts of the brain get affected. In this type of seizure the sufferer can loose his consciousness and can also suffer from temporary memory loss.

Tonic Clonic Seizures

The symptoms associated with this type of seizure are:

Loss of control on the body due to which you can fall on the ground.
Unconsciousness.
Involuntary movements of the body parts.
Shivering.
Stiffening of the muscles.
Loss of control on bowel and bladder.
Confusion and drowsiness.

Clonic Seizures

In this type of seizure the person can loose complete control from the body and thus can fall on the ground.

Tonic seizures

In this type of seizure the sufferer looses complete control from the body.

Atonic seizures

In this type of the seizure the muscle movement becomes floppy, due to which you can fall forward on the ground.

Nocturnal seizures

The effects of this seizure can be viewed in the sufferer during the day as well as the night while sleeping.

Myoclonic seizures

This type of a seizure attack occurs mainly in the afternoon or in the evening. The patients tend to suffer from shivering of the body.
