Influenza Symptoms
Alternative Name: Flu
Influenza is one of the very infectious disease that affects the respiratory mucous membrane. Its symptoms are known to be much more severe than the "common cold" and characterized by a sudden onset of symptoms. Once the influenza virus enters your body, it takes almost 1-2 days before one can see the signs and symptoms of influenza. Once caught then the symptoms may even last for 1-2 weeks, but fevers usually subsides down and last between 3-8 days.
Some of the common symptoms of influenza may include:
- Headache
- Chills
- Feeling generally miserable
- Weakness.
- Nasal Congestion
- Cough
- Sore Throat
- Reddened eyes, skin (especially face), mouth and throat
- Extreme Fatigue.
- Sneezing.
- Runny Nose.
- Muscle Aches in the back and legs
- very high fever, normally between 100 -103 degrees Fahrenheit in adults (sometimes higher in children).
The flu can make chronic health problems more worse. For example, people with asthma may experience asthma attacks while they have the flu, and people with chronic congestive heart failure may have a worsening of this condition, that is triggered by the flu.
