Causes of Obesity
There are many factors that contribute to causing obesity including genetics, the environment and behavior. Genes: It is the most common cause of obesity. Some individuals have a genetic tendency to gain weight and store fat. Environment: The environment plays a vital role in causing of obesity to the person. So, a healthy environments should be create to avoid obesity. Behavior: Adopting healthy habits for lifelong weight control purposes includes regular physical activity and nutritious eating. Other Causes may be:Age: As you grow older, your metabolic rate slows down and you do not require as many calories to maintain your weight. People frequently eat the same and do the same activities as they did when they were 20 years old. Thus it causes the obesity. Gender: Gender is also an important factor. Males have a higher resting metabolic rate than females, so males require more calories to maintain their body weight. Fatty foods: Hot dogs, Big Macs, french fries, macaroni and cheese, nachos, potato chips, ice cream -- all these high-fat foods causes obesity. Lifestyle: If you spend most of your time at a desk or on a sofa, your risk for obesity is higher.
