Palpitation - Introduction
Definition:
Heart palpitations represent the physical sensation of irregularities in the beating of the heart, it may be too slow, too fast, or at its normal frequency; brought on by overexertion, alcohol, disease or drugs, or as a symptom of panic disorder.
Palpitations are heartbeat sensations that feel like pounding or racing. You may have an unpleasant awareness of your own heartbeat. You may feel like- There's skipped or stopped in heart beats. It can be felt in your chest, throat, or neck.
A palpitation is an awareness of the beating of the heart. It can also refer to a shaking motion. An abnormal heart rhythm is referred to as an arrhythmia. It enables the person to become aware of the action of his heart. It is a distressing condition but is not always serious.
