Symptoms and Signs of Pancreatitis Disorder
Pancreatititis is a digestive disorder in which the inflammation of pancreas occurs. Pancreas is located in the upper region of abdomen. The main function of pancreas is the production of digestive juices and hormones that plays a major role in digestion of food. Pancreatitis in a patient can be observed with the help of following signs and symptoms: Pain: The main symptom of pancreatititis disorder is the pain in abdomen. This pain is so severe that the patient finds it unbearable. Sometime pain in back can also occur because of this disorder. With this pain the breathing of patient is affected because if person breaths normally then pain becomes more severe. The patient gets relief in pain if he breaths slowly. The other ways of getting relief from this pain is to sit up and walk for some time. Bending forward can also help to get rid of pain. Shock: Shock is another classical symptom of pancreatitis that tends to occur in most of the pancreatitis sufferers. Shock generally occurs in patients when the level of fluid in blood stream reduces than the normal level. During shock the temperature of body falls dramatically and arms and legs of the sufferer become very cold. In this condition the blood pressure of patient falls so dangerously that it can be life threatening. The mental state of patient gets abnormal during shock. Bleeding: In severe cases of pancreatitis the tissues of pancreas can die which lead to bleeding problems. If bleeding inside the abdomen continues for a long time then it can be life threatening for patient. The internal bleeding of abdomen can be observed externally with the help of two signs. The first sign is the Turner's sign in which greenish brown and reddish purple color can be observed on the flank areas (the area that lies between the ribs cage and the hip bone) of body. The other sign is the Cullen's sign in which bluish color can be seen around the navel part of body. Common Symptoms: The other symptoms of pancreatitis disorder include nausea and vomiting and sudden fall in blood pressure. Fever can also occur to the patient suffering from pancreatitis.
