Treatment and Cures of Pancreatitis Disorder
The sudden inflammation of pancreas is referred as pancreatitis. The patient can get rid of this disorder after some days of treatment. The technique mainly used as a cure of pancreatitis is ERCP or Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography. It is a technique to view the state of pancreas, pancreas duct, bile, pancreas blockages, gall stones and gallbladder inside the body. In this technique first the patient is sedated than an endoscope which is generally a tube containing mini video camera is entered in the small intestine of the sufferer through mouth, throat and abdomen. The endoscope is attached with a monitor and computer. The surgeon views pancreas and their location on monitor and before proceeding surgery. With the help of an endoscope a special kind of dye is applied to pancreas and ducts so that the images can be viewed on monitor when X-rays are focused on the targeted areas. Following methods are used in the cure of Pancreatitis: Sphincterotomy: This method is used to find out the muscle that is attached with pancreatic duct. After that incisions are made on duct to widen the opening. In this method a very thin and tiny wire is attached with endoscope. Gallstone Removal: In this method a small basket is attached with the endoscope for removal of gallstone which is a cause of pancreatitis. Balloon Dilatation: In this technique endoscopes are used with the balloons so that narrow ducts can be widened. The balloons are generally placed before the operation so that pancreatic ducts can be properly opened. Stent Placement: In this method generally a straw like device is used to open the pancreatic duct. There are a lot of complications associated with surgical treatments of pancreatitis such as bleeding, perforation of the bowels and severe infections. Sometime infections can cause serious problems like kidney failures. Sometime breathing problems can occur during surgery however this type of situation is rare but it can happen. It generally occurs when supply of oxygen to the blood cells and tissues is not proper.
