Some Important Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infections are:

  • Dysuria - Pain or burning during urination is the primary symptom of UTI's.
  • Needing to pass urine more frequently than usual, when you have infection in your urinary system.
  • Having blood present in the urine, in case of chronic infection.
  • Feeling like you need to urinate more often than usual
  • Feeling the urge to urinate but not being able to do, may cause infection in urinary tract.
  • Leaking a little urine could occur in UTI's.
  • Pressure in your lower belly.
  • Feeling tired or shaky
  • Discomfort or pressure in the lower abdomen. The abdomen may feel bloated.
  • Cramping in the pelvic area or back.
  • The urine often has a strong smell, looks cloudy, or contains blood. This is a sign of pyuria , or a high white blood cell count in the urine, and is a very reliable indicator of urinary tract infections.
  • Severe cystitis symptoms, which include frequent, irritating, and strong-smelling urine that contain blood.
  • An increased need to urinate at night.
  • Vomiting and nausea.
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes) in infants, particularly jaundice that develops after eight days of age.
  • Fairly high fever (higher than 101°F)
  • Shaking chills
  • Flank pain - Pain in your back or side, usually on only one side at about waist level.
