Chapped lips is a disorder that occurs when moisture loss from lips skin occur. The main causes of chapped lips are exposure toward sun and strong winds. Chapped lips are red, dry and painful. In the worst condition of chapped lips bleeding can occur from lips due to which sufferer feels discomfort.

Home Cures and Remedies:

Following are some home based remedies and cures that can provide some relief in this disorder

Water : Drink 6 to 7 glasses of water everyday to maintain moisture of your lips. Deficiency of water can cause dryness of lips due to which they can get chapped or cracked. Proper care is necessary during winter season because cool air is the main cause of chapped lips. So maintain temperature of your room at an optimum. It is the best home remedy to get rid of chapped lips.

Diet : Eat a well balanced diet that is enriched in Vitamin B. It is helpful to prevent licking of lips. Vitamin A is necessary for healing of skin. So include fruits and vegetables in your diet that are a good source of vitamin A. These include carrot, tomatoes and green leafy vegetables. Also include nuts and legumes in your diet.

Lip Balm : If you are drinking a lot of water and still feeling lip's dehydration then you can use a piece of cloth soaked in water to maintain moisture of your lips or you can also try an herbal lip balm. Use this balm after every two hours. It will maintain moisture of lips and protect them from licking.

Brush and Toothpaste : Before using a tooth-paste, you need to consult your dentist as some people are allergic towards the ingredients present in tooth-paste. It can cause chapped lips.

Saline Bath : A saline bath is also helpful to get some relief in this disorder.

Cucumber : Rub a slice of cucumber on your lips. It will provide some cooling effect on your lips and you will get some relief in this disorder.

Milk Cream : Milk cream is the best home remedy for curing chapped lips. Apply some milk cream on your lips using your finger tip and you will be benefited surely.
