Home Remedies for Low Blood Pressure
Some of the Common Home Remedies for the Treatment of Low Blood Pressure are:
- Stick with nonalcoholic drinks: Alcohol temporarily dilates blood vessels, causing a pleasantly warm flush. But those dilated vessels don't sustain their shape as well as normal, undilated vessels. So when your blood vessels dilate, your blood pressure can hit some dizzying new lows.
- Licorice: Add 3/4 cup crushed licorice (Mulathi) root to 4 cups cold water and allow it to stand for 2 hours. Then bring it quickly to a boil and steep for 5 minutes. Add this to the bath water in the tub.
- Don't Restrict Salt: Salt intake is beneficial for the treatment of low blood pressure.
- Drink lot of Fluids - When you're sweating your way through a heat spell, blood pressure can plummet quickly because of dehydration. The sugar in soft drinks will speed fluid into your cells, and the salt will help it stay there. Of course, plain water will also work wonders.
- Basil Leaves: Have juice of basil (tulsi) leaves (10-15) mixed I teaspoon honey.
- Almonds: Soak 7 almonds in water over night. Peel them and grind to a smooth paste. Add in a glass of milk and boil. Drink warm.
- Basil leaves: Crush 10-15 holy basil leaves (tulsi) and strain through a clean muslin cloth. Mix with 1 tsp honey. Have it the first thing in the morning. It will help to increase blood pressure.
- Alcohol: Brandy or Alcohol of any variety in quantity from 15 to 50 ml. diluted with warm water, is a temporary expedient which can be tried till the exact cause of the malady is ascertained.
- Beet : Drink a cup of beet juice twice daily for a week or more.
- Ammonia Aroma: Spirit of Ammonia Aroma should be given in teaspoonful doses diluted with an equal amount of water.
- Soak 32 small raisins in a ceramic bowl full of water over night. Chew them one by one first thing in the morning. Chew well and drink the water also.
