Some Genreal Home Remediies that have been found to work in case of Pyorrhea are: Salt: Properly brush your teeth in morning. Take half a teaspoonful of salt and add few drops of mustard oil in it. Now rub this mixture on your gums using your finger tip. If you are feeling pain while rubbing then use a cotton piece instead of your finger tip. It is the best home remedy for the treatment of pyorrhea. Follow the same procedure before going to bed at night. Guava: Chewing an unripe guava in morning is beneficial in dealing with pyorrhea. Banyan Tree Bark: Take bark of banyan tree and boil it in a vessel containing water. Boil it for half an hour so that the extract of the bark gets dissolved in water. Now cool the solution and strain it using a piece of cloth. Gargling with this solution is helpful to stop bleeding in gums. Lemon Juice: Put some drops of lemon juice on a cotton piece and rub it on your gums. You will feel irritation for some time but after that it will give you a cooling sensation. It is an effective remedy in treatment of pyorrhea. Butter: The main symptom of pyorrhea is bleeding of gums. To stop the bleeding take rub some butter gently on your gums. It will give you an instant relief from bleeding. Carrot and Spinach: Drinking juice of spinach and carrot in equal quantity once a day is considered as one of the best home remedies for treating pyorrhea. You can also drink juice of carrot and spinach individually. Diet: Take a balanced diet. Include crunchy fruits and vegetables in your food. Vitamin C plays a major role in the healing process of teeth and gums, so eating fruits and vegetables containing vitamin C is very beneficial in treating pyorrhea. Avoid spicy and junk food stuff. You also need to avoid milk products like cheese as it gets stuck in gums and provides a favorable environment for bacteria to grow. Hygiene: Oral hygiene is the basic need to treat any kind of mouth disease including pyorrhea, so brush your teeth on regular basis, twice a day using an herbal tooth paste. You can also use an herbal mouthwash for gargle.
